The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved the list of elite (high-performance) sports. It includes 65 sports featured in the programs of the Olympic, Paralympic, Deaflympic, Asian, and Para Asian Games, as well as national sports.
The list includes Greco-Roman wrestling, women’s wrestling, freestyle wrestling, judo, taekwondo WT, and karate WKF, which are under the supervision of the Republican State Enterprise “Olympic Training Center by types of Wrestling”.
Funding for these sports will be provided on a priority basis from the national and local budgets. The allocated funds will be directed toward developing the sports reserve, supporting athletes’ participation in international competitions, conducting training camps and sports events, as well as maintaining and improving sports infrastructure.
