U20 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship Concludes: What Are the Results?

The U20 Freestyle Wrestling World Championship has come to an end in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Athletes from the RSE "Olympic Training Center by types of Wrestling" of the Palace of Martial Arts named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov won 1 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze medals.

In the 125 kg weight category, Edige Kassymbek defeated Iran’s Abolfazl Mohammad Nezhad with a dominant performance in the final. With this victory, Edige became the first junior world champion in this weight category since Kazakhstan gained independence.

In addition, Kamil Kurugliev won silver in the 92 kg division, while Samir Dursunov (97 kg), Doszhan Kulgaip (74 kg), and Nurdanat Aytanov (57 kg) each secured bronze medals.

Team Kazakhstan also took 2nd place in the overall team standings.
