World Champion Aym Serikbayeva Returns Home

The staff of The Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov of The Republican State Enterprise "Olympic training center by types of wrestling" solemnly welcomed the Center’s athlete and World Youth Taekwondo Champion, Aym Serikbayeva.

Aym Serikbayeva, an athlete of The Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov of The Republican State Enterprise "Olympic training center by types of wrestling", won a gold medal in the under 44 kg weight category at the World Taekwondo (WT) Youth Championships held from April 12 to 17, 2026, in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). She was also named the “Best Female Athlete” of the championship.

It is worth noting that the last gold medal at the World Championships for Kazakhstan was won in 2006 in Vietnam. Thus, after 20 years, a new chapter in Kazakhstan’s taekwondo history has been written.

Notably, in October 2025, Aym Serikbayeva won the Asian Games in Bahrain, and in July 2025, she became the Asian Champion in Malaysia, earning the title of “Best Athlete” at both events.
