From June 21 to 26, 2025, the Asian Wrestling Championships among U17 athletes are taking place in Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Today, athlete Zhaidar Mukat from the Olympic Wrestling Training Center — based at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov — claimed a gold medal in the women’s 61 kg weight category, defeating India’s Tina Punia in the final match.

This victory marks a historic moment for Kazakhstan’s women’s wrestling — 11 years after Irina Kapitanova’s gold in 2014, our nation once again brings home the top honor from the Asian Championships.

The triumph is the result of Zhaidar’s hard work and the dedicated coaching of Arman Sadybekov and Daulet Nurgozha.
